This policy explains what data Top Dividend Stocks collects when you visit top-dividend-stocks.com, why we collect it, who else can see it, and what you can ask us to do about it. We keep it short and specific rather than exhaustive and vague.

This website is operated by Asel Mamytova, a sole proprietor registered in Switzerland. She is the controller responsible for the personal data described below.

The rules we follow
We process personal data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) of 25 September 2020, in force since 1 September 2023, together with its Ordinance on Data Protection (ODP). In practice that commits us to six things:
- Lawfulness and good faith — we collect data openly, for reasons we can state.
- Proportionality — we collect what the purpose actually requires, and no more.
- Purpose limitation — data collected to run and improve this site is not repurposed for something you would not expect.
- Transparency — this page names every processor, which is why it lists them individually rather than saying “trusted partners”.
- Accuracy — we correct data that turns out to be wrong, on request or on our own initiative.
- Security — appropriate technical and organisational measures, described below.
Because a large share of our readers are in the EU, we also apply the standards of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to visitors from the EEA and the UK. Where the two frameworks differ, we follow the stricter of them.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Email correspondence. If you email us — for example a guest-post pitch through our Write for Us page — we keep the message and your address for as long as the exchange is useful, and no longer.
- Comments. Where comments are enabled, WordPress stores the comment text, the name and email you supply, your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string. The IP address and user agent are used for spam detection. Your email address may be sent as an anonymised hash to the Gravatar service to look up a profile picture; see the Gravatar privacy policy.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our host records the usual request data — IP address, timestamp, page requested, user agent — for security and troubleshooting.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand which articles are read and how people arrive. It sets cookies and processes your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics gives us aggregate traffic figures. It does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites.
- Google Search Console shows us which search queries lead here. It reports aggregate data only; we cannot identify individual searchers.
We do not sell your data, we do not run a newsletter, and we do not operate advertising or retargeting pixels on this site.
Cookies and consent
Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and are always set. Analytics cookies are set only if you agree through the consent banner, which is managed by WPConsent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the banner’s preferences link, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the site will still work.
How long we keep things
- Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that follow-up replies stay readable in context. You can ask us to delete yours.
- Analytics data is retained under Google’s standard retention period for this property.
- Server logs are rotated by our host, typically within a few weeks.
- Email correspondence is deleted once it no longer serves a purpose.
Who your data goes to
The processors above — our hosting provider, Google (Analytics and Search Console), Ahrefs and the Gravatar service — process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own policies. Several are based outside Switzerland, so your data may be transferred abroad. Transfers to countries the Swiss Federal Council recognises as providing adequate protection, including the EEA, need no further safeguard; for other destinations, notably the United States, we rely on the contractual safeguards and certification frameworks those providers maintain. We do not pass your data to anyone else, and no one pays us for access to it.
Your rights
Under the FADP you can ask us to confirm whether we process personal data about you and to give you a copy, to correct data that is inaccurate, to delete it or stop processing it where there is no justification for continuing, and to object to a particular use. Where processing rests on your consent — analytics cookies — you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting what came before. Visitors in the EEA and the UK hold the equivalent GDPR rights, including data portability.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can report the matter to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Bern, or, if you are in the EEA or the UK, to your national data protection authority.
Links to other sites
Our articles link to company filings, fund documents, regulators and other publishers. Following one of those links takes you to a site with its own privacy policy, over which we have no control. Where we link to a commercial partner we mark the link as sponsored, and those links are listed on our Tools & Resources page.
Children
This site is aimed at adult investors. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We keep WordPress and its plugins updated and limit administrative access to the accounts that need it. No website can promise perfect security, but we take the ordinary precautions seriously and will notify you and the FDPIC of a data security breach where the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
If we add a service that collects data — a newsletter, a contact form, an advertising partner — we will update this page and change the date at the top before it goes live.
